Our History
The two partners, Adam Hoffman and Gabe Bentovim met at a quality Mid-Size accounting firm in NYC. That firm, M.R. Weiser & Co. has interestingly grown and morphed into the now famous (or infamous) Mazars USA the accounting firm that represents the current President of the United States. They both moved on to other opportunities but came together again after Gabe purchased a personal income tax practice in Commack. Adam joined him the next year and for the last 30 years they have built that small practice into a full service CPA firm. Prior to the reunion they both gained valuable experience as controllers out in private industry. There they both learned a great deal about running successful businesses and we have generously shared that knowledge with our clients.

Partner
Adam Hoffman
Adam co-founded the firm in 1990 and has been a CPA since 1992. Adam is the office technology maven and has allowed our firm and many clients the convenience of keeping up with computer technology without the use of outside consultants. He was the driving force behind the formation of our sister company company and suite mate, Medical Billing and Consulting Corp., which offers billing services for physicians and therapists. Many of our medical clients find having both their accounting and billing under one roof a great benefit.

Gabriel Bentovim
Gabe co-founded the firm with Adam in 1990. He has been a CPA for over three decades and in 1988 acquired a tax practice called Commack Corners Tax Center, which was primarily focused on individual income tax. After establishing Hoffman & Bentovim, Gabe and Adam grew the business side of the firm to its current expansive state. Gabe is Securities Registered and Licensed in Insurance Sales. Prior to acquiring Commack Corners Tax Center, Gabe was a controller and shareholder in Bleyer Industries Inc., a packaging products manufacturer.

Staff accountant
Josephine Giancontierri
Josephine has been with the firm since 1996. She is the engine behind the firm's productivity. She is the resident QuickBooks expert; training and supporting our clients on the proper use of QuickBooks, helping them keep their accounting fees as low as possible and maximizing their use of the software.
OFFICE Manager & administrative ASSISTANT
Terry Gaffney
Terry is the fountain of knowledge in our office. She knows where everyone and everything is every day. She probably can answer most of your questions, and if she cannot she knows where to go to get the answer. She coordinates the office, monitors our electronic filing in tax season, makes everyone's schedule for tax season and makes sure all our equipment is running and sees to it that we do not run out of supplies .
STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Jackie Kolsky
As well as doing write-up work and tax returns, Jackie is our resident Excel expert. She can create a creative and easy to use spreadsheet for almost any project. She is also the point person whenever we need a detailed financial statement prepared, where she puts together her excellent knowledge of Excel and accounting to create a professional end product.

Linda Cardoza
Linda was formerly controller of Bleyer Industries Inc, a packaging company on Long Island. Her knowledge of handling the books and records of a multi-million dollar operation is a great asset to our firm.
COMPREHENSIVE ACCOUNTING AND OFFICE AUTOMATION
Nina Nelkina-Sugrue
Nina has over 20 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper including payroll and sales tax filings. She is well versed in the use of QuickBooks, Excel and Word. Additionally, her many accounting skills and organizational talent are a huge bonus for our firm.
